  Arrival at Bagdogra & Transfer to Gangtok

  Arrival assistance at Bagdogra airport and transfer to Gangtok. Check in at the hotel upon arrival.

  Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, was established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s. It became the capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended but joined India in 1975. Today, Gangtok is a prominent Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for trekking in the Himalayan mountain ranges of Sikkim.

  Post breakfast, proceed for sightseeing:

  • Do Drul Chorten (Stupa): A prominent stupa surrounded by prayer wheels and a symbol of Tibetan Buddhism.

  • Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: An institute dedicated to Tibetan studies, featuring rare manuscripts and artifacts. (Closed on Sundays)

  • Cottage Industry: A center showcasing traditional Sikkimese crafts and textiles. (Closed on Sundays)

  • Enchey Monastery: A historic monastery known for its vibrant murals and serene ambiance.

  Gangtok - Changu Lake (Tsomgo) - Gangtok (By Surface)
  

  After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (also known as Changu Lake). Enjoy a scenic excursion to Tsomgo Lake, a picturesque glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks, before returning to Gangtok for a restful evening.

  Return to Gangtok and relax at the hotel.

  Gangtok - Kalimpong - Darjeeling (By Surface)
  

  Post breakfast, drive to Darjeeling with an en-route visit to Kalimpong.

  In Kalimpong, explore notable monasteries such as the Zang Dhok Palri Phodang Monastery and the Thongsha Gompa, and enjoy panoramic hill views.

  Continue the drive to Darjeeling, reaching in the afternoon. Check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing or exploring the local area on your own.

  Joy Ride on the World Heritage Toy Train: Darjeeling to Ghoom and back.

  Experience a nostalgic journey aboard the famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The toy train ride takes you from Darjeeling to Ghoom and back, offering scenic views of the mountains and valleys.

  In the afternoon, visit the following attractions:

  • Himalayan Mountaineering Institute: Explore exhibits and memorabilia related to mountaineering, including items from historic expeditions. The institute is closed on Thursdays.

  • Zoological Park: Discover a variety of species, including the red panda and the Himalayan wolf. The park is closed on Thursdays.

  • Tibetan Refugee Centre: Learn about Tibetan culture and crafts. The center is closed on Sundays.

  Post breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra airport and board the flight to Kolkata.

  Post breakfast, proceed for sightseeing:

  • Howrah Bridge: Also known as Rabindra Setu, this iconic bridge spans the Hooghly River and is a symbol of Kolkata. It's one of the busiest cantilever bridges in the world and offers a stunning view of the river and the cityscape.

  • Belur Math: The headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math, founded by Swami Vivekananda. This serene complex is dedicated to the teachings of Ramakrishna and is known for its distinctive architecture and peaceful environment.

  • Dakshineswar Kali Temple: Located on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, this temple is dedicated to Kali Ma and is famous for its association with Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who spent a significant part of his life here.

  The rest of the time will be spent at leisure.

  Post breakfast, proceed for sightseeing:

  • Marble Palace: An exquisite 19th-century mansion known for its stunning marble floors and eclectic collection of art, including paintings by European masters and antique furnishings.

  • Jorasanko Thakurbari: Also known as the Tagore House, it was the ancestral home of the Tagore family and the birthplace of Rabindranath Tagore, the renowned poet and Nobel laureate. It now serves as a museum dedicated to the Tagore family and their contributions to literature and arts.

  • Birla Temple: A modern Hindu temple dedicated to Lakshmi and Vishnu, known for its impressive marble architecture and peaceful ambiance.

  • Kalighat: One of the 51 Shakti Peethas, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali and is a major pilgrimage site in Kolkata. It is known for its vibrant rituals and offerings.
