• day1

  Arrival at Colombo Airport and Transfer to Kotugoda

  Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, a representative will assist you. You'll be guided to the arrival lounge, where you can address any last-minute questions and meet your driver. The drive to Kotugoda, on the outskirts of Colombo, takes approximately 30 minutes. Check-in, unpack, and relax.

  Cultural Triangle Sightseeing

  After breakfast, head to the Cultural Triangle (Sigiriya, Dambulla, Polonnaruwa). The journey, about 3 hours northeast, takes you through small towns and plantations. Stop for a refreshing thambili (king coconut) if desired.

  Visit Dambulla Cave Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site with impressive murals and religious art dating back to the first century BC.

  Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa Sightseeing

  Breakfast at the hotel. Explore Sigiriya, the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as Lion Rock, with panoramic views from the top. Enjoy a light lunch at Sigiriya Rest House, with an option to swim.

  Post-lunch, visit Polonnaruwa, the second capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th centuries. If time permits, explore Minneriya National Park, renowned for its large elephant gatherings during the dry season.

  Dambulla - Kandy (By Surface)

  Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Kandy. En route, visit a working spice garden to learn about spices like cinnamon and pepper. Stop for lunch at Ena de Silva’s residence, known for its batik artistry and a delightful meal of 20 curries.

  Arrive in Kandy in the late afternoon, check-in at the hotel, and later visit artist Rajhu’s house for tea and a painting session with Rajhu and his daughter, Rudrani.

  Kandy Sightseeing

  Breakfast at the hotel, then explore Kandy. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens with Professor Palipana, exploring the lush gardens that date back to the 14th century. Enjoy a light lunch at the gardens.

  Post-lunch, explore Kandy's central market, the British Garrison Cemetery, and the Kandy National Museum, showcasing Kandyan period artifacts. Visit the Temple of the Tooth, Sri Lanka’s most sacred site, and experience traditional religious services.

  Tea Country Sightseeing

  Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to the Tea Country. The scenic train ride from Kandy to the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea region is renowned for its stunning views. Arrive in Hatton and transfer to Tientsin Bungalow, a colonial-era tea planter’s residence managed by Tea Trails. Enjoy the evening at Tea Trails, relaxing and taking in the views.

  Tea Country Sightseeing

  Breakfast at the hotel, then visit a tea plantation with a resident planter for insights into tea production. Lunch is served on the verandah at Tea Trails.

  In the afternoon, explore local villages, and take in views of Adam’s Peak, a significant pilgrimage site. Enjoy the spectacular vistas of the Hill Country and beyond.

  Tea Country - Colombo (By Surface)

  Breakfast at the hotel, then proceed to Colombo. En route, visit Kitulgala, known for its role in the film “Bridge on the River Kwai” and for bird watching and rafting. Arrive in Colombo, a vibrant city with a mix of modern and colonial architecture.

  Dinner at Ministry of Crab, renowned for its exquisite Sri Lankan crab dishes.
