  Arrival at Colombo Airport and Transfer to the Hotel

  Arrival at Colombo or Bandaranaike International Airport. A warm welcome by our representative in Sri Lanka. Transfer to Negombo. Check-in at the hotel.

• day2

  Negombo - Kalady (By Surface)

  Post breakfast, drive to Kandy.

  Kandy is a charming city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings, retaining an aura of grandeur through the ages. Encircled by hills and featuring a tranquil lake in its center, Kandy is home to the renowned Temple of the Tooth and the Royal Botanical Gardens, which boast one of the best collections of orchids in the country. Kandy and its surrounding villages are also centers for traditional handicrafts, and its traditional dances are among the most spectacular in Sri Lanka.

  En route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, situated on the banks of the Maha Oya. This sanctuary primarily houses young elephants displaced from their natural habitats due to environmental changes or abandonment. The most interesting times to visit are during feeding or bathing sessions when the herd (typically 40-50 elephants) moves from the orphanage to the river, often passing through narrow streets.

  Kandy Sightseeing

  Have breakfast at the hotel in the morning.

  Later proceed for the Sightseeing:

  • Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic: Visit this revered Buddhist temple, known for housing the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. It’s a significant pilgrimage site and an architectural marvel with ornate decorations.

  • Peradeniya Botanical Gardens: Explore these expansive gardens, which feature a vast collection of tropical plants, including a renowned orchid collection, set against a picturesque backdrop.

  • Gem Workshop: Visit a local gem workshop to see Sri Lankan gems being cut and polished, and learn about the country’s gem industry.

  In the evening, enjoy a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dances and music.

  Kandy - Nuwara Eliya (By Surface)

  Have breakfast at the hotel in the morning and check out.

  Later proceed for the Sightseeing:

  • Ramboda Falls: Visit this picturesque waterfall, located in the hill country. The falls cascade from a height of about 109 meters, creating a stunning natural spectacle surrounded by lush greenery.

  • Tea Factory and Plantation: Tour a traditional tea factory to observe the process of tea production from picking to packaging. Learn about the history and techniques of Sri Lanka’s tea industry while exploring the verdant tea plantations.

  • Gregory Lake and Farms: Explore Gregory Lake, a scenic spot perfect for leisurely strolls or boat rides. Nearby, visit local farms to experience the region’s agricultural practices and enjoy the serene landscape.

  Nuwara Eliya - Bentota (By Surface)

  Have breakfast at the hotel in the morning and check out.

  Proceed to Bentota, a popular beach destination on Sri Lanka’s southwestern coast, known for its beautiful sandy beaches, water sports, and relaxing atmosphere. It's a great spot to unwind after exploring the cultural and natural wonders of Sri Lanka.

  Bentota Sightseeing

  Breakfast at the hotel. Later proceed for the sightseeing.

  • Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery: Learn about the conservation efforts and see baby turtles.

  • Visit Madu River for a boat ride: The Madu River, flowing through Balapitiya, is a serene and picturesque location with 64 small islands, many of which are covered with mangroves. The smallest island, "Satha Paha Doowa," is home to a tiny shrine dedicated to the gods of Kataragama. This area offers a tranquil and scenic boat ride through unspoiled nature.

  Bentota - Colombo (By Surface)

  Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

  Proceed to Colombo: Colombo, once known as 'the garden city of the East,' is evolving into a vibrant destination with a blend of historic colonial architecture and modern attractions. Explore the historic Fort area, the bustling Pettah market, and the revitalized seafront.

  Breakfast at the hotel.

  Visit Independence Square: This historic landmark, built to commemorate Sri Lanka’s independence from British rule, features a grand pavilion surrounded by lush gardens. It’s a key site for national celebrations and a symbol of Sri Lanka’s freedom.

  Visit Pettah Market: Explore this bustling bazaar known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse range of goods, including local produce, spices, textiles, and electronics. It’s a lively place to experience Colombo’s street life and commerce.

  Visit Gangarama Temple: This renowned Buddhist temple is known for its unique blend of traditional and contemporary architecture. It features ornate decorations, a serene atmosphere, and a collection of Buddhist artifacts and relics.

  Colombo Airport Departure
