    Delhi - Jodhpur (By Flight)

    Presiding over Jodhpur, the capital of one of the largest Rajput states in western Rajasthan, is the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. Described by Kipling as the “work of angels, fairies, and giants,” it was built in 1459 and features some of the most imposing fortifications in the world. Enjoy a private dinner in the fort’s garden.

    Jodhpur

    Created from resplendent white marble, Jaswant Thada is a large 19th-century memorial to Jaswant Singh II and the cremation ground of the Marwar rulers. The visit to Mehrangarh Fort includes an examination of the Marwari Rajputs' painting tradition, with special access to the gallery led by the director. The lively Old City features buildings painted in various shades of blue, originally denoting Brahmin homes.

    Mandore - Nagaur (By Surface)

    Mandore was the capital of the Marwar state until 1895 when it moved to Jodhpur. The royal cenotaphs on the ancient cremation grounds are unique in Rajasthan, resembling Hindu temples.

    Drive through the desert to Nagaur, one of the earliest Rajput settlements and an important Sufi center.

    Nagaur

    Ahichhatragarh Fort, connected to the hotel by a corridor, was founded in the 4th century and developed further in the 18th century. It preserves pre-Mughal and Mughal architecture in its palace chambers. The Akbari Mahal, built to commemorate Emperor Akbar's visit in 1570, features original floral murals, while the Hadi Rani Mahal houses 16th-century murals in shades of green depicting daily and courtly scenes. The rest of the day is free.

    Nagaur - Bikaner (By Surface)
    In the morning, drive to Bikaner to visit the Laxmi Vilas Palace, a masterpiece of Indo-Saracenic architecture designed by Sir Swinton Jacob in 1902. The Jain Bhandasar Temple, though older than the city itself, dates from the 15th century and features fine paintings.

    Bikaner

    Unlike most Rajput strongholds, Junagarh Fort is not built on a hill. Founded in 1588, it features a range of painting styles, from traditional Rajput motifs to early 20th-century depictions of trains. The Monsoon Palace includes unusual paintings of rain clouds and lightning, while the Diwan-i-Khas, the hall of private audience, is richly decorated with gold leaf. There will be a special opening of the Phool Mahal, the oldest part of the palace.

    Bikaner - Mandawa (By Surfcace)

    The desert villages of the Shekhawati region in northern Rajasthan are celebrated for their painted havelis (merchant mansions) from the 18th century. The Nand Lal Devra Haveli in Fatehpur features newly restored examples. A leisurely walk in Mandawa reveals interesting depictions of flying machines and other modern appliances.

    Mandawa - Jaipur (By Surface)

    The 4-hour coach journey to Jaipur traverses the scenic Aravalli range. Founded in the 18th century by the prominent Rajput ruler Sawai Jai Singh, Jaipur's design reflects its creator’s fascination with mathematics and science. The dramatically located site of Galta outside Jaipur includes temples, leisure pavilions, sacred water springs, and tanks.

    Jaipur

    The City Palace contains an impressive collection of paintings and artifacts. The Jantar Mantar observatory, built in the 1730s, features massive astronomical instruments that are remarkably accurate. The tour includes a visit to the many-windowed façade of the pink sandstone Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) and the attractive havelis. The former duck-hunting lodge Jal Mahal is situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake (subject to confirmation).

    Perched on a natural ridge, the magnificent yellow walls of the 18th-century Amber Palace conceal exquisite craftsmanship—mirrored chambers, latticed windows, and carved alabaster. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the painting and gem markets for which Jaipur is renowned.
